The Work You Will Do:
The Government Operations Consultant III, is located in the Department of Economic Opportunity, Office of Long-Term Resiliency.
We are seeking a person who is detail-oriented, thorough and organized, to join our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the Office of Long-Term Resiliency, Rebuild Florida Housing Repair and Replacement Program.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position works as a Housing Specialist Lead within the Division of Community Development, Office of Long-Term Resiliency (OLTR) Rebuild Florida Housing Repair and Replacement Program. The position coordinates work assignments for 3 to 4 OPS employees, advocating for program activities; serving as a participant for team assignments, process improvements, and special projects.
- Conducts the eligibility review, including the evaluation of confidential documentation, for Rebuild Florida applicant files.
- Perform preliminary document reviews, facilitate the tracking of projects through the department review, approval, execution, and close-out processes.
- Researches and prepares State, Federal, and all other applicable policy documents for programmatic review and implementation.
- Track homeowner grant agreements and/or contracts from execution to close-out.
- Maintain good working relationships and keep in close coordination with partnering agencies.
- Prepare reports and analyses and make recommendations to team to determine program action.
- Maintain essential program-related documents to provide State and Federal audit support.
- Assist team on special projects as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge and experience in administering Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) preferred, but not required.
- Proficient with Word, Excel, and ability to operate computer software with a high level of efficiency.
- Ability to coordinate and manage housing program activities with other partners.
- Ability to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility and handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment while representing the Housing Program’s best interest.
- Ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy, customer service, or ethics.
- Ability to conduct research and provide reports and analyses as required.
- Ability to interpret statutes, administrative rules, and federal regulations.

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE APPLICANTS THAT HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS
Preference may be given to candidates with HUD experience in CDBG or CDBG-DR.
Qualifications:
