Job title: Pain Physician Scientist Company: UT Southwestern Medical Center Job description : The UT Southwestern Departments of Neuroscience and of Anesthesiology & Pain Management, together with the O’Donnell Brain Institute, jointly seek a scientist or physician-scientist who works on fundamental and/or translational aspects of pain. Appointment at any academic rank will be considered. The successful applicant will be appointed primarily in the department of Neuroscience or in the department of Anesthesia & Pain Management, depending upon their background and research focus. Applicants must have a track record for academic achievement in basic, translational, or clinical research. Basic research interests with a translational component are encouraged. These include, but are not limited to, interest in channels mediating analgesia, elucidating central pain/analgesia pathways, elucidating chronic pain mechanisms, and novel pain therapeutic approaches.
