This is a full time OPS position 40 hours/week that pays $16.59 per hour

This position works in Tallahassee as an OPS Government Operations Consultant I
Minimum Requirements:
A bachelors and 3 years of experience or a mixture of experience and education equal to 7 years.
Job Description:
- Assist in the planning and coordination of, and participation in, the Disability Employment Appreciation Celebration (DEAC) and Annual Continuing Education Day (ACED) events in Tallahassee and statewide.
- Lead conference calls with area event coordinators.
- Coordinate and train offices on implementation of DEAC, ACED and other events, which includes composing, updating, tracking, maintaining and distributing communications (e.g., meeting and thank you notes, employer nominations, special guests, program scripts, routine correspondence, logs, videos and reports).
- Coordinate and track printing, award engraving, years of service pins, etc.
- Coordinate the printing flyer, invitations, banners, signage, name cards, videos, PowerPoints, etc.
- Photograph events, as needed.
- Research and post daily news clips on division’s intranet site.
- Assist in the planning, tracking and coordinating division publications (e.g., newsletters, flyers, reports) of public information.
- Write and interview success stories of division’s customers and others involved with vocational rehabilitation.
- Write articles for the division newsletter.
- Review work written by others to check for correct spelling and grammar, ensure agency formats are followed, and recommend revisions.
- Answer, track and respond promptly to emails, telephone requests and other communications to give information to callers, take messages and transfer calls to appropriate individuals.
- Coordinate with statewide communications coordinators, intranet and internet content coordinates with clear directions and timelines for collateral.
- Create and maintain electronic filing systems for records, correspondence for communications and public affairs.
- Complete forms in accordance with program and agency procedures.
- Process forms, invoices, purchase requisitions, mileage and travel requests associated with the business unit.
- Provide general administrative support to the communications and public affairs unit.
- Operate office equipment such as personal computers, copiers and phone systems.
- Create and maintain excel spreadsheets, word and other software.
- Screen and research legislation relating to persons with disabilities.
- Coordinate and circulate legislative bill tracking and notifications, and legislative committee meeting calendars to stakeholders.
- Monitor committee meetings and relay summaries to stakeholders.
- Review and summarize bill status and summary reports.
- Utilize applications such as MFMP, SharePoint, Online Sunshine and other approved applications.
- Perform data entry, as needed.
- Communicate with coworkers, management, customers, vendors and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
- Develop and coordinate relationships with vendors and stakeholders.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, procedures and instructions.
- Serve as representative for Communications and Public Affairs Director, as needed.
- May be assigned other responsibilities on a temporary or ongoing basis for the delivery of quality service related to the programs or division, as necessary.

Background Screening Requirement
It is the policy of the Florida Department of Education that applicants for employment undergo level-2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
