The OPS Government Operations Consultant I is a member of the Bureau of Economic Self-Sufficiency team of the Division of Community Development.

THIS POSITION HAS THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM JOB RELATED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn State of Florida travel and purchasing procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effective through verbal and written communication.
  • Working knowledge of computer software including, word processing, spreadsheets and Email systems.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Ability to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to establish effective internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to interpret statutes, administrative rules, and federal regulations.

THE HIRED CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:

This position provides program support to local governments, the Bureau Chief, Community Program Managers, GOC II’s, GOC III’s and department staff for the programs operated within the Bureau of Economic Self-Sufficiency including the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Programs (LIHEAP) and the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP).

  • Supports and assists Bureau staff, including GOC II’s and GOC III’s in federal and state grant management. This includes support and assisting Bureau staff, including GOC II’s and GOC III’s with reviewing and processing all correspondence, payment requests, citizen complaints, conflicts of interest, contract modifications, wage decision requests, policies and procedures, contract clearances, plans and specifications packages, procurement documents, waiver requests, monitoring reports and closeouts to ensure compliance with federal and state statutes.
  • Supports and assists Bureau staff, including GOC II’s and GOC III’s in maintaining all files on the contracts from application to final closeout. Support and assist Bureau staff in providing technical assistance to local governments, consultants and citizens regarding programs within the Bureau.
  • Independently coordinates and reviews all mail and Bureau work products. Independently prepares correspondence for the Bureau and proofreads correspondence prepared by Bureau staff. Routes various procedural memoranda, publications and other information to the Bureau staff for review. Maintains files and records of correspondence, documents and other information.
  • Maintains calendar for the Bureau, arranges meetings, scans documents, answers phones for the Bureau, schedules itineraries and travel as required. Prepares travel reimbursement vouchers and related reports for staff. Maintains a calendar for all Bureau-related events.
  • Supports records management, including maintenance of all filing systems and the archiving of files for all programs operated within the Bureau of Economic Self-Sufficiency. Assists staff with notices to be published in the Florida Administrative Register and with other on-line submissions.
  • Maintains office supply inventory, prepares supply and purchase requisitions and processes invoices. Responsible for purchasing and processing charges utilizing the office purchasing card.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Carries out special assignments as needed.
