Job description: My client are an innovative and exciting Life Science company that specialize in the field of Ophthalmology. They have an amazing pipeline but also a number of Phase I and II ongoing studies across a number of different indications. As part of the ever expanding Surgical training team they are now looking for an experience trainer to join the US affiliate to manage a number sites in the Midwest and Southeast. As well as a number of operational activities, a list of the core responsibilities are provided below:

  • Accountable for becoming the expert for the delivery of therapeutic programs. This includes instrumentation/devices, OR set up, OR team roles & responsibilities, study drug handling (dilution, pharmacy, storage, traceability, destruction, etc)
  • Manage training execution, follow-up training, and ongoing clinical site surgery support for Surgeons and Clinical Staff, both for the interventional programs and partner programs with the product
  • Collaborate across the clinical and other internal teams to plan for and execute on site communications, trial readiness, and other needed activities per the clinical trial program
  • Serve as the field training partner for clinical trial sites as assigned per territory, including demonstrating the ability to build long-term relationships, trust and credibility for my client
  • Train sites on required tissue sampling and storage during study surgeries and at follow up visits
  • Provide clinical support for all hands-on Skills Development training and device R&D development work as needed
  • As required, be the company procedure training resource for relevant internal and external personnel
  • Assist in the development and continued refinement of procedure training materials in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a standardized approach in the delivery of product – this can involve providing critical input into material updates and/or creating materials as needed for training on clinical programs

Candidates will be considered from all Medical Device backgrounds and not necessarily Ophthalmology although a distinct advantage.
