Job description: Major Manufacturing Company is seeking a Functional SAP ABAP Developer in the Schaumburg, IL area.

The Candidate
We are looking for an up and coming technically resourceful person well versed in developing ABAP code in the SD and MM modules of our SAP ECC 6.0 ERP system in a sales and distribution environment, focused on debugging, error corrections, and system enhancements.

You will work closely with the Functional team to determine optimal programming solutions to functional requirements in the order to cash, and procure to pay process areas, and develop custom code as demanded by each business case and assist in new product development as well as support day-to-day operations troubleshooting. A special focus will be on implementing efficiency enhancements throughout the SD, MM, and FI modules in existing or new Z-developments and user exits.

You should have a broad range of development capabilities, covering BADi’s and user exits, dialog programs, reports, SAPscript, Smartforms, ALE, EDI and RFC interface handling, LSMW, and function modules. Finding the source of a problem is your second nature – you debug like no one else. You must have a minimum of 2-3 years of technical ABAP programming experience on multiple SAP projects and have a thorough understanding and experience with ABAP workbench environment (incl. ABAP Objects and data dictionary). Application-related programming experience in ECC 6.0 must cover SD and MM – FI, WM, and PP are a plus. You can answer development related questions or find answers to them quickly, and believe in thorough testing.

You also have a good functional background and understanding of customizing of the core modules of SD, MM, and FI, and you are able and interested in interacting with the end users to troubleshoot and/or clarify or establish requirements.

Some desired bonus skills would include knowledge of Adobe Forms, exposure to Sovos Taxware integration, and MobiSys programming experience.
