Job description: We are looking for a Junior Technician to join our growing team! Title: Junior Technician (Automotive Technician, Entry Level) Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Department: Green Drop Garage Location: Portland, OR Hourly Rate: $16-$19/Hr DOE + benefits Help us take Green Drop Garage to the next level! Green Drop Garage is actively seeking an entry level technician to provide superior service to their “home” shop. You will become a trusted part of the Green Drop Garage team, managing the details of the lube lane and helping our unique company grow and thrive. We have four locations and have growth in mind. Store hours are generally 8am-5pm Monday Through Friday. 9am-5pm on Saturdays. Our technicians usually work five days on, two days off, with the option of more flexible scheduling by request. The right candidate is organized, works independently and adapts quickly to new challenges. From managing daily functions to helping keep customer vehicles and the shop clean and orderly, our entry level technicians play a vital role in representing the company to our customers. Green Drop Garage would not be here without our quality production teams. A Junior Technician’s purpose is to support shop operations and goals both in automotive and operational capacities. They also provide support to team members by helping with basic car care, cleaning and logistical duties, all while working towards a better understanding of vehicles and ability to perform basic duties. Responsibilities * Performing a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor * Maintaining a clean job site * Picking up all tools and equipment and securing job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards * Ensuring customer and staff safety * Performing duties to help maintain shop effectiveness and efficiency * Maintaining clean/organized workspace, parking lot, shop and personal appearance * Performing work as requested * Maintaining accountability in schedule, communication, actions and repairs performed * Using appropriate personal protective equipment * Maintaining awareness of surroundings and impact of actions on shop environment * Learning how to use shop tools and software * Working with other Technicians to solve questions/problems on the job Qualifications * Demonstrates ability to help in various tasks to support general shop operations * Desire to work towards proficiency in oil changes * Ability to identify common mechanical problems * Ability to pass ASE certification within 90 days of hire and interest in continuing education * Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment * Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions * Basic knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions * Ability to work alongside others and complete daily activities according to work schedule * Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse conditions * Ability to communicate orally and in writing * Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely * Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions * Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency Benefits Green Drop Garage is committed to maintaining a motivated, positive work environment full of great people who share, demonstrate, and live our core values.
