DESCRIPTION OF WORK

There are two categories of Caseworker within our Children and Youth Services Department. As an Intake Caseworker, an employee will investigate and assess reports and referrals within a time sensitive manner and determine whether to indicate unfounded and/or accept a family for services designed to prevent abuse. The purpose of the Ongoing Caseworker is to coordinate and continually assess services designed to maintain children in their natural home or reunify them to their natural home and concurrently plan for permanent alternatives in the event the natural home environment is unable to provide adequate or safe care necessary for the child’s welfare.

The holder of either position will work cooperatively in a team environment with other Caseworkers, Clerks, Aides, and Supervisors in an attempt to provide the best possible outcomes for children and families across the County.

Work Schedule: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday
Lunch Period: 30 Minutes
Occasional nights and weekends and overtime, as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications:
