Job description: Special Education Teacher 2021 – 2022

AnthroMed Education is a Special Education services provider aiming to enhance the communities we serve. We are seeking a committed Special Education Teacher for the 2021-2022 School Year who will be supporting students on site. We believe in working with our Special Education Teachers to help them achieve their short- and long-term career goals and truly make an impactful difference in student’s lives.

Diverse Learning Teacher Responsibilities include:

  • Support the learning of every student in an Elementary/Intermediate School setting.
  • Provide support in a co-teaching and/or pull-out environment.
  • Serve as Case Manager to a caseload of approximately 15-20 students.
  • Uses technology to track student progress, prepare written reports, implement IEPs, and record progress.
  • Monitor student’s progress as it relates to established IEP’s.
  • Maintain accurate reports, records, and files on individual students.
  • Create a well-rounded environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to all students.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, teachers, staff, and parents.
  • Actively participate with colleagues in school improvement activities, curriculum development, teaming, and collaboration.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Valid Illinois PEL (Professional Educator License) required
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in Special Education
  • LBS1 endorsement is required
  • Ability to connect with people from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds
