Considering candidates for two Seattle-area locations: Lake Forest Park & Redmond, WA

SUMMARY: The Foreman Trainee position is intended to introduce experienced Climbers to Davey Tree Company culture and develop their skillset and career toward the full-time leadership position of Foremen/Foreperson.

Foreman Trainees will learn to lead 2- or 3-person tree crews (or sometimes more) to complete tree pruning and tree removal. Foremen/Forepersons are responsible for utilizing the Job Planning Toolkit to safely and efficiently complete work orders as assigned by management. This includes performing pre-climb inspections of trees before work begins. Foremen/Foreperson work directly with the District Manager to mentor and train new employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2+ years’ climbing experience
  • Ability to work with various type of clientele, ensuring excellent customer service is provided, while maintaining arboricultural standards, and meeting objectives
  • Experience pruning to ANSI A300 standards
  • Comfortable climbing on Moving Rope System
  • Ability to set a tie-in-point utilizing Throwball and Throwline
  • Proficiency tying Climbing Hitches, Termination Knots, & Rigging Knots
  • Dedication to safe chainsaw operation and maintenance
  • Prior Experience with Sectional Tree Removal utilizing techniques to minimize Dynamic Loads
  • Prior Experience felling with open-faced notch, hinge wood, and back cut for directional control
  • Valid Driver’s License required

Valuable qualifications, but not required:

  • CTW-Climber Specialist, ISA Certified Arborist, and/or CTSP
  • Commercial Driver’s License (Class B CDL) with airbrakes preferred
  • Aerial Lift Experience
  • Crane Experience
