Job description: This position collects, analyzes, and disseminates health data and trends which helps local governments and health care providers make decisions and plans to improve people’s health and reduce disparities in efforts to improve the health of their communities. Collaborates with other public health professionals in the development of regional and statewide strategies to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting to support community and system planning and decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications: Requires equivalency of a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in public health, nursing, sociology, business, informatics, public administration, or related field and two years’ experience in public health or related health care setting with demonstrated competence in the use of a range of analysis tools (business intelligence tools; routine or ad hoc reports; Statistical Analysis System (SAS), Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS); geographical information systems (GIS) and program evaluation – OR – two years’ experience in informatics, program evaluation, and/or systems/process analysis with demonstrated knowledge of public health principles and practices and competence in use of a range of analysis tools (business intelligence tools; routine or ad hoc reports; Statistical Analysis System (SAS), Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS); geographical information systems (GIS) and program evaluation. Experience in the provision of a range of public health services; considerable knowledge of statistical, analytical, and research concepts and methods; and considerable knowledge of public health principles are desired.

Pay Range: $58,352 to $83,881 – DOQ.
