Job description: Attorneys! Hate Losing? Want to work in a firm designed for the sole purpose of winning?
If chalking up wins is the primary measure of your career success, my firm is the one for you. I’m a trial lawyer who’s never lost a jury trial. Prepare a cover letter with no more than two paragraphs and a single closing sentence. In the first paragraph explain what you believe are the 3 most important qualities that must be possessed by an attorney working on fraud cases. In the second paragraph tell me why you applied to this particular ad. As a closing sentence please write, “I have read the instructions contained in the job posting and have followed the instructions.” Email your resume and cover letter in PDF format to admin @ doncasterlawpllc.com.
The subject line of the email should be #winningwithwriting.
Our law firm is looking for an attorney who is ready to represent our existing client base. The ideal candidate will work closely with the firm’s clients, administrative staff, and senior partners. If you have the ability to handle a diverse caseload, have stellar research and writing skills, can communicate effectively, and use today’s technology well, please start your application today!
All firms talk about culture, we have one
We’re an anti-fraud firm because we value truth. We believe truth exists, and it matters. Ayn Rand once said: “We can ignore reality, but we cannot ignore the consequences of ignoring reality.” In this law firm, we bring that truth toe-to-toe with fraudsters.
If we had a formal firm creed, it would probably read something like this:
· We believe that truth exists and truth matters.
· Truth is not subjective. There is no such thing as my truth, your truth, his truth or her truth. There is only the truth.
· Perverting the truth is morally atrocious. People who do this deserve consequences, and we deliver them.
· Vindicating the truth is more important than social approbation. We aren’t “country club lawyers.” We won’t wash over the truth just because someone doesn’t like it.
· We reject the concept of a “grey area” between true and false. In every fraud case I’ve tried, the defendant made some attempt to diminish or excuse his conduct by creeping towards a grey area. We shine a spotlight on those folks and leave nothing left but light and darkness.
Winning is rewarding
In this firm, you can earn a solid six-figure income without grinding big firm hours. We have substantial quarterly bonuses available to every employee who’s meeting KPIs. And we’ll be able to offer you insurance, paid time off, and other benefits.
Most importantly, you’ll be on a career path that let’s you fight fraud with all the skill and creativity you can muster. You’ll never need to pull your punches. And you’ll get to win a lot. To get this opportunity, please follow the instructions. APPLICATIONS THAT DO NOT FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

We need a great writer to help us winThe firm needs a great writer to help us win. You need to be a mature writer who writes a great brief (table stakes) and also thinks strategically about what briefs to write. You think all the way to the end of a case, not just two or three moves ahead. (Of course, tunnel-visioning a single document is appalling). You should understand that great writing makes a difference and have already made a decision to dedicate your career to that skill. If you’ve written a brief that begins with “Comes now” within the last year, stop reading. This job isn’t for you.If you open briefs with mundane, formulaic recitations of party names and defining the plaintiff as (“Plaintiff” or “Smith”) or similar non-sense (hereinafter “the stupidest sh** I’ve ever seen” or “TSSIES”) this isn’t the job for you.But if you open briefs with something clear and punchy, we’re for you. Ideally, it will be the most important reason your brief should win. A good fact works. Or a powerful legal rule. But you must use good judgment on what will persuade. You also understand how to think through a case from inception to end. You should understand how early writing effects depositions and trials. You should feel comfortable doing at least ninety percent of the work on a civil case prior to the trial setting conference. You should also understand motions in limine and be prepared to assist with them and trial preparation.
