This could be for you!

Fast-paced automotive supplier is seeking a Materials Manager to join their management team. Daily you will report to the Corporate Materials Manager and Plant Manager and will oversee a staff of direct and indirect reports. Daily your responsibilities will include:

• Managing, motivating and developing the materials, inventory, shipping and scheduling teams
• Monitoring capacity planning on a monthly basis
• Leading scheduling activities to meet production goals
• Overseeing purchasing activities from established vendors based on forecasts
• Coordinating with production to prevent scheduling issues
• Developing and implementing strategies to manage inventory control
• Analyzing materials and improving established processes and KPIs
• Driving inventory accuracy and completing cycle count programs
• Ensuring accurate information in the ERP system
• Other duties as assigned by the management team

Individuals should constantly be challenging the norm and seeking process improvement initiatives. Strong analytical skills will be required. Candidates should feel comfortable working in fast-paced, high-stress environments and spending up to 25% of their day on the manufacturing floor. This is a direct-hire position that needs filled immediately. Candidates should be willing to take evening and weekend phone calls as needed.

REQUIREMENTS for the Materials Manager:

• A bachelor’s degree is required, ideally in a related supply chain/operations discipline
• Minimum of at least three years of similar materials management experience in a high-volume automotive environment
• Experience working in automotive supplier and/or OEM environments
• Experience with inventory and material control, including scheduling and forecasting
• Supervision experience
• ERP experience
• Microsoft Office, including strong MS Excel skills

Skills preferred, but not required:

• ERP implementation
• Experience supplying to Ford and GM
• CPIM certified
• SAP and/or Oracle experience

This opportunity is in the Mansfield, Ohio area. Candidates are preferred to be local to the area. There is not a relocation package available at this time.
